Cemented carbide powder blends are considered to have the greatest resistance to simple abrasive wear and therefore to have many applications in wear resistant parts, as well as machining and metal-cutting tools.

PPM Ltd. offers four basic groups of customized cemented carbide powder blends for customers:  

Group I : Tungsten carbide powder blended with a cobalt binder (6 to 30 %). Uses: Tools for rock drilling, drill bits for mining and oil industry, geological prospecting, coal-mining and granite processing etc.
Group II : Tungsten Carbide powder blended with a nickel binder (around 6%). Uses: Cost effective solution with a higher corrosion resistance when compared to cobalt binder cemented carbide parts. Useful  for wood cutting tools.

Group III : Tungsten carbide powder blended a with cobalt binder ( 3 to 13 %) and grain-growth inhibiting carbides. Uses: Metal cutting tools.

Group IV : Titanium Carbide powder blended with nickel and/or molybdenum binders. Binder content custom tailored to suit application. Uses: applications requiring lighter weight alloys with higher resistance to wear, corrosion and oxidation than tungsten carbide.
